The main objective of this collaboration is to sustainably preserve this remarkable heritage, strengthen site security, and improve visitor reception. The association "Le Passe Muraille", active in Occitanie since 1997, will bring its expertise to the monument and its natural environment, as well as for the development of cultural activities accessible to all.
Loïc Linares, president of Sète agglopôle méditerranée, emphasized the ambition to combine heritage rigor, social inclusion, and cultural mediation. "Our ambition is to offer this emblematic site reinforced and lasting influence throughout our territory," he stated, confirming that this new phase is part of a global conservation effort led by Sète agglopôle méditerranée in conjunction with the municipality of Gigean, the abbey's owner.
Until April 14, 2027, activities on the site will continue as normal. Sète agglopôle méditerranée also wished to acknowledge the preservation work carried out over several decades by the "Abbaye Saint-Félix de Montceau" association and its volunteers.
