The Programming Committee of the GAL Aubrac Olt Causse Gévaudan, chaired by Vincent ALAZARD, convened on October 1, 2026, in Nasbinals. The objective was to rule on structuring projects for the region and to mobilize the European LEADER 2023-2027 funds.
The committee, composed equally of local elected officials and civil society representatives, approved adjustments to its composition. Christophe Bernier was officially appointed as vice-president.
Faced with more applications than available funds, the committee decided to process a large volume of files to account for potential withdrawals and ensure the full utilization of the LEADER envelope.
Several public and private project holders received a favorable opinion for their investments. The programming was validated for three local businesses: a printing company in Lozère, a Charcuterie in Aveyron, and a Jewelry store in Lozère. Seven new projects were accepted, including the Butcher shop of Malzieu-Ville, the SDIS 48, the Health House of Laguiole, as well as various developments and signage in Laval-du-Tarn, Marvejols, Bourg-sur-Colagne, and the Bread Oven of Roussy. The project to enhance the Truyère valley, led by Saint-Flour Communauté, was also approved as part of a cooperation.
Committee members stressed the importance of upcoming timelines. All projects must be programmed by October 31, 2027. A working meeting with the Occitanie Region is scheduled for October 14 in Carcassonne.
The President, vice-presidents including Jean-Paul POURQUIER, and elected officials reiterated the urgency to expedite project processing and prioritize animation credits to secure the finances of local structures.
A reminder was made about the participation of GAL agents from Occitanie in the inter-GAL event on September 28 and 29 in Auch to meet with the CNFPT and propose training dedicated to LEADER programming. Additionally, a working group addressed project support and the monitoring of LEADER programming progress, with a perspective on the next European funds period.
