Given the territorial disparities where rural areas account for only 15% of new businesses, BPI France has launched a call for projects to support entrepreneurship in these regions. Rural entrepreneurs often face isolation and difficulties accessing support networks and financing.
Adefpat, leveraging its successful experience in Occitanie, has proposed a new joint application. The PETR of Gévaudan-Lozère has joined this initiative to structure local business creation. The territory's economic fabric comprises 70% of very small enterprises (VSEs) and 58% micro-enterprises as of 2024, with one in three ceasing operations within three years.
These very small businesses, often in the service sector, are hard to identify and rarely seek economic development support or financial aid. The challenge is therefore to better detect them early and help them structure their operations from the outset to consolidate their business projects.
Actions will be carried out across all 4 EPCI members of the PETR of Gévaudan-Lozère from 2027 to 2029 to guide these businesses towards economic development partners.
