The Youth Municipal Council (CMJ) played a key role in welcoming the English delegation, highlighting the importance of intergenerational transmission at the heart of the twinning dynamic. These ties, forged over more than forty years, continue to inspire future generations.
The twinning committee and local elected officials organized a varied program including visits to the heritage and nature of the Causse Méjean (Borie mill, Hyelzas Caussenarde farm) and the Aubrac (Museum of World Bagpipes in Cantoin). A guided tour of the La Goutelle Mill in Marvejols, led by municipal councilors Véronique Proust and Patrick Valentin, was also offered.
A maritime excursion to Sète allowed guests to discover Mont Saint-Clair, the Museum of the Sea, and the city's canals.
Tuesday, October 27, was marked by the traditional planting of daffodils in front of the Town Hall, followed by an official reception and a festive meal at the restaurant Le Marve’joie (Hôtel des Rochers).
To conclude the stay, local gifts, including a jar of honey (APIcité® label) and an illustrated poster of Marvejols, were presented.
“"Forty-three years of friendship prove that our bonds are deep. Intercultural exchanges are a richness. It is up to us to preserve them and pass them on to new generations."
The City of Marvejols expressed its deep gratitude to the volunteers and host families for their generosity.
