Canet-en-Roussillon is preparing to host the 12th edition of La Rose Canétoise, a charity mobilization dedicated to the fight against cancer, on October 3 and 4. This initiative, supported by the City, brings together a large public and numerous volunteers each year.
For this edition, La Rose Canétoise is innovating with a new village and a new starting point, the forecourt of the Oniria aquarium. This new configuration is accompanied by an enriched program of activities.
Saturday, October 3, will be dedicated to walkers with a 12 km hike starting from Place Méditerranée at 8:30 AM. In the afternoon, the younger participants take center stage with a new event this year: the first Kids Race, starting at 3 PM. Several courses adapted to different ages are planned, including a duo race with a parent for the youngest (300m for 3-5 years), 600m for 6-8 years, 1,000m for 9-11 years, and 1,500m for 12-13 years.
On Sunday, October 4, the Oniria forecourt will be the new starting point for walkers and runners. The morning will feature several events: a 10 km race (start 8:30 AM), a 2 to 6 km walk (start 9:30 AM), a 2 km aquatic walk (start 10 AM), and a 5 km race (start 10:30 AM).
Beyond the sporting challenge, La Rose Canétoise is a solidarity event. Registrations and donations support the fight against cancer, with funds going to the Ligue contre le cancer, Oncoparcours Pyrénées-Orientales, and the association of Dr. Bachelard. The edition is sponsored by Dr. Stéphanie Catala, president and founder of Oncoparcours Pyrénées-Orientales. The goal is to gather 7,000 people, supported by nearly 150 volunteers. Participants are invited to come in costume this year, with prizes for the best outfits.
Dr. Stéphanie Catala, an oncologist in Perpignan and president-founder of Oncoparcours, views sport as a tool for reconstruction. Her association, created in 2021, supports women affected by breast cancer, having already assisted 482 women.

Bibs can be collected from Tuesday, September 29, at Intermarché (Ancien Casino) and the Office de Tourisme de Canet-en-Roussillon until October 3. Starts will be organized in waves of 300 runners to ensure a smooth event flow.
Parking will be difficult in the port area. Parking lots are provided by Weldom, Intermarché, and Clap Ciné, with a free shuttle service by two small trains connecting these parking areas to the race village.
