Members of the Children and Youth Municipal Council (CMEJ) and the Council of Elders of Canet-en-Roussillon met at the Esparrou Castle for a visit focused on discovering the pond and protecting its environment.

Accompanied by the Friends of Esparrou association, participants discovered the fauna and flora of this natural space. Led by Bruno Volland, a cultural speaker and author of animal stories, the visit addressed the challenges of nature preservation and the effects of climate change. Using binoculars and a spotting scope, participants notably observed the flamingos present on the pond. The exploration continued in the castle park.
Beyond observations, this meeting fostered intergenerational exchange. Young elected officials and members of the Council of Elders shared their knowledge and reflections on biodiversity and the preservation of their environment.
