SYDEEL66 has unveiled its new premises in Saint-Féliu-d’Avall, a building designed to reflect its commitment to energy transition and the future of the department's communities. The inauguration, held on Monday, September 28, brought together numerous personalities, including the Prefect of the Pyrénées-Orientales, Mr. Pierre Regnault de la Mothe, the President of the Department, Ms. Hermeline Malherbe, and senators Ms. Lauriane Josende and Mr. Jean Sol.
Facing the expansion of its responsibilities and an increase in staff, SYDEEL66 required more spacious facilities. The choice of Saint-Féliu-d’Avall was driven by its strategic location. This new headquarters is intended to be a modern and innovative tool, mirroring the union's image, incorporating self-consumption initiatives and addressing energy management challenges.
The meeting room has been named "Jacques ARNAUDIÈS" room, in tribute to the former president of SYDEEL66 from 2001 to 2020. Mr. Jean MAURY, the current President, wished to acknowledge his commitment over 19 years at the head of the union.
This collective project involved the OECO architecture firm, engineering consultancies, and numerous local companies, utilizing diverse expertise for its construction. The project received financial support from the State and the Department of Pyrénées-Orientales, as well as the Banque des Territoires.
This new building symbolizes the evolving role of SYDEEL66. "With this new headquarters, SYDEEL66 intends to continue its action around a collective ambition: to be an energy union close to its communities and their inhabitants, useful to its territory, and capable of preparing for the future," stated Jean MAURY, President of SYDEEL66.
