The concept is simple: what is no longer useful to some can be useful to others. The "Recyclerie des 2 Rives", located at the Prouxet waste disposal site, emphasizes reuse and exchange among users. Operating like an inverted supermarket, it allows residents to donate items or materials they no longer need for free, and to take others for free, thus promoting the circular economy.
The objectives of this initiative are manifold: to reduce the amount of buried waste, improve recycling, enable residents to give their items a second life and acquire second-hand objects for free. The reuse of construction materials is also encouraged.
The facility covers an area of 400 m². Users can deposit their items or materials for reuse directly onto shelves classified by family: tableware, toys, furniture, gardening supplies, etc. This public service aims for a significant environmental impact through waste reduction.
Public opening hours are aligned with those of the waste disposal center: from 9:00 AM to 11:50 AM and from 2:00 PM to 5:50 PM. During the summer period, from mid-June to mid-September, hours are extended to a continuous day, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
An important rule governs the operation of the recycling center: you must give in order to take, thus ensuring balance and encouraging everyone's participation.
