The municipality of Verdun-sur-Garonne has completed its Programmed Accessibility Agenda (Ad’AP) after three years of work aimed at improving access to public buildings for all.

Between 2023 and 2025, the municipality of Verdun-sur-Garonne implemented its Programmed Accessibility Agenda — Ad’AP — to improve access to public buildings for everyone. This initiative involved planning and carrying out various works for people with disabilities, as well as seniors, families with strollers, and anyone facing mobility challenges.
The accessibility agenda covered two phases of work. The first focused on the town hall, community halls, and churches, with modifications to facilitate movement and access. The second phase concerned facilities for associations, schools, and local services, including the rugby club, the bridge club, the Espace Saint-Pantaléon, the Restos du Cœur facility, the Community Center, the Municipal Police station, Dareysses school, and Jules Verne school.
Among the concrete improvements made are the creation of accessible restrooms, external ramps, replacement of interior doors, and leveling of door thresholds. These interventions aim to ease building entry, improve internal circulation, and enable more independent use of facilities.
The works were financed by several stakeholders. For phase 1, the State contributed €38,001.72, the Region €39,847, and the Department €57,387. For phase 2, the State provided €61,810, the Region €40,000, and the Department €61,568.
Beyond regulatory requirements, this agenda reflects the municipality's commitment to accessible public service for all. The improvements enhance user comfort, safety, and autonomy, benefiting the entire population. The municipality thus continues its commitment to a more inclusive town.
