After over a year of disruptions caused by vandalism and fuel theft, the municipality of Verdun-sur-Garonne has implemented a technical solution to secure regional bus parking at the college.

Since April 2025, the parking of regional buses near the college had been severely disrupted due to acts of vandalism and fuel theft. Lacking an immediate solution, buses had to be repositioned below the ramparts, causing disturbances for residents: very early morning departures, engine noise, and a reduction in available parking spaces.
Following numerous discussions, follow-ups, meetings, and arbitration involving departmental services (owners of the parking lot) and regional services (in charge of school transport), a technical solution has finally been found and implemented in the college's parking lot.
Concrete blocks equipped with a platform have been installed to allow for secure bus parking on site, thus ending a situation that had too long impacted the neighborhood's life. The municipality has consistently mobilized to advance this issue with all concerned partners, despite successive back-and-forth exchanges between different levels of responsibility.
This concrete outcome now allows for a more normal operation, benefiting residents, locals, users, and students. The municipality thanks the mobilized services for resolving this matter and is pleased that a solution has finally come to light.
