Despite capricious weather, the race lived up to its promises, fueled by the energy of the participants and the commitment of the volunteers. On Sunday, October 4th, Mazamet and Aussillon kicked off the Trail de la Passerelle under persistent rain. The weather did not dampen the motivation of the 1,590 registered runners, who came to take on the challenge across one of the five proposed routes.
Participants were distributed as follows: 227 on Le Nore, 314 on Le Mazamet, 202 on Les 3 Croix, 422 on Le Montagnès, and 425 on L’Aussillon. For all, the rain transformed the trails into slippery terrain, making the race more technical and demanding than usual.
However, the spirit of trail running prevailed. Along the routes, encouragement from families and the good spirits of the volunteers, equipped with raincoats and umbrellas, gave the runners a second wind. Upon arrival, emotions ran high: joy, relief, and pride in having finished.
The feedback from participants the following day was unanimous. They spoke of the difficulty of the course, but especially of the quality of the welcome, the warmth of the encouragement, and the generosity of the organization. This success relies on the collective mobilization of about 250 people: the teams from the towns of Mazamet and Aussillon, municipal agents, associations, partners, as well as security and rescue services, not to mention all the volunteers. A big thank you to each and every one for their commitment, often discreet but essential.
The next event is already scheduled for October 3rd, 2027, for the 9th edition of the Trail de la Passerelle.
