For this 37th edition of the Mental Health Information Weeks (SISM), taking place from October 5 to 18, 2026, the chosen theme is 'For our mental health, let's open ourselves to the arts'. The Ariège-Couserans Hospital Center (CHAC) is partnering with several local organizations in Ariège to offer a series of events aimed at connecting artistic creation, personal expression, and mental health.
Several events are scheduled across the department. On Wednesday, October 7, a screening of video fragments from the choreographic and cinematographic creation 'Séjour & Plongée #4' will take place at 6 PM at the Cinéma Max Linder in Saint-Girons. This creation was developed in partnership with L’Estive – Scène nationale de Foix et de l’Ariège.
On Thursday, October 8, from 9 AM to 12 PM, the market in La Bastide-de-Sérou will host a musical performance featuring Elisa Laffont, a music therapist at CHAC, and her choir.
In Montjoie-en-Couserans, on Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10 at 3 PM, the show 'Musée imaginaire de la musique' will be presented, led by residents of the MAS des Marguerites at CHAC and the specialized 'Voix du spectacle' workshop.
On Saturday, October 10 at 3 PM, the Conservatoire de Pamiers will host 'Les Inattendus à l’Uni-sons', a theatrical and musical performance resulting from the art therapy and music therapy work of CHAC's adult psychiatry services.
An immersive theatrical performance, 'Un autre monde', is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 PM at the Cinéma Max Linder in Saint-Girons. Supported by the adult psychiatry sector of CHAC, the Erasme educator school, and the troupe Les Inattendus, it aims to foster connection, creativity, and destigmatization.
These initiatives highlight the importance of changing perceptions of mental health, promoting expression and interaction, and combating prejudice. CHAC thanks the patients, residents, professionals, and partners for their involvement.
