On Tuesday, September 22, Régis Banquet, president of Carcassonne Agglo, and David Sanz, president of the US Carcassonne association, formalized the renewal of the partnership between the rugby club and the Campus Connecté. This collaboration this year allows fifteen young players from the training center to pursue their higher education studies remotely while continuing their high-level sports careers.
Alongside Christian Magro, vice-president in charge of Higher Education, and Aurélien Turchetto, vice-president in charge of Tourism, Régis Banquet rejoiced in this "win-win partnership, important for the club but also for the agglomeration." He emphasized that the program allows young athletes to develop their "potential as high-level athletes while being supervised twice: at the training center and at the connected campus."

David Sanz, president of the US Carcassonne association, for his part, highlighted the relevance of the program, stating that "thanks to it, we have discovered that one can be at the Sorbonne or in STAPS (Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities) in Carcassonne."
Opened in 2019, the Campus Connecté offers a learning environment adapted to students enrolled in distance learning programs. It currently hosts 39 students, a 56% increase compared to last year, meeting the needs of those who cannot live in university cities for various reasons, including high-level athletes and artists.
