Want to become a lifeguard this summer? The municipality of Leucate is offering comprehensive and free training for the new SSA – Sauveteur Secouriste Aquatique qualification. This initiative, in partnership with the firefighters of SDIS de l’Aude, is open to young people aged 16 and over.
The training program includes first aid certifications PSE1 and PSE2, physical preparation at the Leucate swimming pool, and a professionalization internship in a specific environment. Upon completion, participants will receive a qualification allowing them to supervise beaches, lakes, and swimming pools.
This training is completely free for trainees who commit to working for the two months of the 2027 summer season with the SDIS de l’Aude. It's a unique opportunity to gain a diploma, a summer job, and most importantly, to learn how to save lives.
