From October 12 to 18, the Taste Week animated the community services of Saint-Affrique, inviting young and old to explore the world of flavors through workshops and tastings.

The Taste Week, a national event dedicated to taste education, took place in the community services of Saint-Affrique from October 12 to 18. Throughout the week, children and adults were invited to smell, touch, observe, prepare, and taste through a varied program. The central kitchen offered specific menus highlighting different regions of France.
At the Les Pitchous daycare, children explored flavors through spice paintings, herbal tea tastings, and activities focusing on salty, sweet, sour, and bitter tastes. They even became little chefs, preparing their own crepe batter, which they later enjoyed during a gourmet snack.
The Relais petite enfance (Early Childhood Support) offered fruit discovery sessions during playgroups, including making fruit salad. In the preschools, a 'Taste Kim' game allowed children to identify products like apples, cinnamon, lemon, or mint with their eyes closed. At the Gare kindergarten, they prepared an orange-themed vegetable soup, which they tasted the next day and shared with the deputy mayor Annie Perez.
At the primary school, students participated in food recognition games, a quiz on fruits and vegetables, a tactile workshop with powders, and made herbal tea using plants gathered from nature.
At the ALSH Le Ludo (Leisure Center), on Wednesday, October 14, children aged 6 to 11 took part in a blind tasting. Younger children (3 to 6 years old) made a fruit milkshake during a morning cooking workshop. These activities were observed by the deputy mayor for school affairs and youth policy, Régine Soulier, and municipal councilor Cathy Maury.
Through these fun and educational activities, which delighted the children, the Taste Week offered everyone an opportunity to awaken their taste curiosity, enrich their knowledge, and share the pleasure of eating well.
