As part of the Flood Prevention Action Program (PAPI 3 Vistre), Nîmes Métropole has initiated major works to tenfold increase the hydraulic capacity of the Uzès and des Limites cadereaux. These developments, located in the municipality of Nîmes, aim to significantly reduce the flood vulnerability of the city's eastern sector.
The construction site for the entonnement of the Cadereau des Limites and Chemin de Russan is causing traffic modifications. Chemin de Russan is now one-way outbound, with access to Chemin des Limites via the north of the square. Chemin des Limites is one-way inbound towards the city center. Additionally, Chemin du Mas du diable is one-way outbound between the Russan / Mas du diable intersection and Impasse du Loriot. Pedestrian traffic is diverted via the sidewalk of Chemin de Russan and along the temporary diversion north of the square, as well as via the sidewalk of Chemin des Limites.
Concurrently, entonnement works are underway in Rue de Calvas, between Place Bonnafoux and Rue Bonfa. Access to Rue de Calvas from Place Bonnafoux is no longer possible. Rue de Calvas, between Rue Bonfa and Place Bonnafoux, will be closed to traffic, except for residents depending on the construction phases. Pedestrian access for residents is maintained. Access to Rue Hoche from Place Bonnafoux is also prohibited; only the outbound traffic direction from Rue Hoche to Rue de la Biche is permitted. Access to Chemin des Limites from Rue Hoche will be via Boulevard Chabaud Latour, Rue Kleber, and Rue Folco de Baroncelli.
