The City of Cugnaux, along with Colomiers, Cornebarrieu, Pibrac, Tournefeuille, and Villeneuve-Tolosane, is now under a water crisis alert, the highest level in the Toulouse Métropole area.

Following a particularly dry summer marked by several heatwaves, water resources have significantly diminished. This exceptional situation has led to the implementation of stricter restrictive measures for all affected municipalities.
In Cugnaux, the main applicable measures include a ban on watering vegetable gardens between 8 AM and 8 PM, and a total prohibition on watering lawns, flower beds, ornamental gardens, and green spaces. Cleaning facades and roofs is also forbidden, as is washing vehicles at home.
Furthermore, filling, topping up, and emptying private swimming pools are prohibited. These restrictions aim to conserve the precious and limited water resource.
The municipality emphasizes that "every drop counts" and calls for all citizens to become "actors of our future" in the face of this water crisis.
