The operation, led by Toulouse Métropole in partnership with the City of Quint-Fonsegrives and organized by Paprec with the associations Humus & Associés and Partageons les Jardins, began on Friday, October 9, 2026. From 6 PM, the 14 participating households gathered for the first chapter of this three-month collective adventure, demonstrating strong interest in concrete solutions for reducing and valorizing garden waste.
The meeting was attended by Jean-Pierre Gasc, Mayor of Quint-Fonsegrives, Charlotte Roman, Municipal Councilor delegated to ecological transition, and Samuel Sautière, Director of Policy and Waste Prevention at Toulouse Métropole. They highlighted the importance of issues related to garden waste management and ecological transition.
The partners then presented the seven major stages of the program, including garden visits, composting workshops, personalized home support, and shredding sessions. The goal is to learn how to transform garden waste into useful resources for the garden, fostering a collective dynamic among the 14 households involved over three months.
Thanks to dynamic and engaging facilitation by the associations Humus & Associés and Partageons les Jardins, numerous exchanges took place from this first meeting. Participants shared their experiences and expectations in a friendly atmosphere, laying the groundwork for a true collective dynamic.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 17, with a visit to an inspiring garden in Aigrefeuille, marking the first field step to discover concretely how to transform garden waste into resources.
