The City of Lourdes, in partnership with Young Farmers, has unveiled the program for the new Saint-Luc Fair, which will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Tydos market.

Thierry Lavit, the mayor, accompanied by Marie Etcheverry, municipal councilor in charge of events, and Alexandre Palisse, representing the Young Farmers of the Hautes-Pyrénées, presented the new edition of the Saint-Luc Fair. This traditional event for the Lourdes agricultural world, which brings together farmers, breeders, and sellers at the Tydos market, is being reinvented to meet current expectations while preserving its identity.
Agriculture, animals, and local know-how are at the heart of this festive and family-friendly day. An artisanal village will allow visitors to meet producers and artisans, while the Young Farmers will offer a refreshment bar and a catering area. The music of the band Los Muchachos will liven up the day.
Visitors can discover local breeds such as Lourdes cows, sheep, draft horses, and ponies. The Ferme du Bon’air will offer a mini-farm for families. Local artist Thomas Nogaro will create a fresco on the entrance walls of the market, highlighting the local heritage and Lourdes breeds. An exhibition of vintage tractors will trace the evolution of agricultural work, and a "tractor license" activity will be offered to children.
The CATLP Media Library will set up a games and reading area. Pony and carriage rides, as well as an exhibition on the uses of wool (yarn, quilting, felt, compost) and workshops on carding, spindle spinning, and needle felting, are also planned.
The fair will highlight agricultural professions with sheepdog demonstrations by the association Un Chien, Un Berger and live sheep shearing. The aim is to foster interaction between the public and the agricultural world, and to help younger generations better understand the professions, gestures, and know-how of the Pyrenean rural heritage.
The City of Lourdes and the Young Farmers aim to keep this tradition alive while looking towards the future, making it an event open to the general public, family-friendly, convivial, and festive. The fair will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Tydos market. Admission is free, and activities are free of charge.
