The town hall of Castelnau-le-Lez, under the leadership of Mayor Julien Miro, unveils the second phase of its proximity plan aimed at bringing public services closer to citizens.

True to its campaign commitment, Mayor Julien Miro is launching a comprehensive plan to redeploy services to the population in Castelnau-le-Lez. This initiative follows previous efforts such as "Lez’Entrevues" (meetings with the mayor), "citizen walks" in neighborhoods, the reporting office for property defects, the "AllôMairie" button on the mobile app, and the establishment of neighborhood councils and the extra-municipal commission on the future of Jean-Jaurès avenue.
The new plan proposes consolidating activities previously housed in the "Maisons des Proximités" into three new spaces. These locations, already owned by the City, will not incur any additional purchase or rental costs. These include an Associations Space, a Services Space, and a Youth Space.
The Associations Space, spanning 400 m2, will be established in the former Jean-Moulin school canteen. It will offer equipped rooms suitable for various association meetings and will have a large parking area near the school.
The Services Space, covering 150 m2, will serve as a one-stop shop for residents' daily administrative tasks. It will house France Services, a digital workshop, access to rights, and permanent offices for partners like the justice conciliator, family mutual insurance, disability inclusion services, the reporting office, and a public writer. This building, located on avenue de l'Europe, is scheduled to open in spring 2027 and is well-served by the tramway at the Galine stop, near Pujol park.
The Youth Space, approximately 200 m2, will be set up in the Clos des Verdures, in the heart of the town. It will host the Youth Information Point, local mission permanences, and meetings of the Young People's Municipal Council. Its proximity to the Charles-de-Gaulle tramway stop and a park will facilitate the development of new youth initiatives.
Additionally, activities will continue in the neighborhoods, including an associative room at Devois and support for businesses in the town center at Caylus and Eurêka.
