The Parenting Week, themed Outdoors as a Family!, has begun in Frontignan and continues until October 19th, offering a rich program of nature outings and environmental awareness.

Organized by the city in partnership with the CAF of Hérault and numerous local stakeholders, this third edition aims to encourage environmental exploration and outdoor living. The event kicked off last weekend.
On Saturday, October 10th, preceding a short film screening with the Montaigne media library as part of the International Film Festival of Education (FIFE), the Hô’Tél box was presented. Conceived by Alexandre Peres for the Débranchez et jouez project (winner of the 2024 participatory budget), it was unveiled to families by Marie-Françoise de Mori, deputy mayor for education and children's rights, and Sophie Colot, municipal councilor for participatory democracy and citizenship. This disconnection box, designed to store mobile phones and offer ideas for family games and outings, has been produced in 300 copies and will be available in schools and municipal locations.
The following day, Sunday, October 11th, a family day focused on discovering nature took place at the Les Mouettes leisure center. Numerous fun workshops delighted children and parents.
During the morning, the municipal sports department led archery tag activities, while facilitators from the before and after-school care provided manual crafts. The association Handi-Actions Cap 34 introduced families to tricycle riding, Carma Family offered a parent/child yoga session, Kimiyo presented a map of local walking spots, the Accro circus school hosted a circus workshop, the Ceméa (Centers for Training in Active Education Methods) guided children in free play, and a treasure hunt was a hit with the children.
Several elected officials, including Françoise Taillefer (deputy mayor for early childhood, family, and gender equality), Marie-Françoise De Mori (deputy mayor for education and children's rights), and David Jardon (municipal councilor for sports, public health, and disability), visited the site to meet families and commend the organizers' work.
In the afternoon, a creative and sports-themed walk led parents and children around the étang des Mouettes. The two speakers, Élodie Touchard (coach-consultant in education and parenting) and Géraldine Colas (kinesiologist), shared their knowledge on the benefits of nature and outdoor movement for body and mind.
The day allowed over 100 participants, young and old, to have fun and engage in the numerous outdoor activities. Children expressed their desire to have another wonderful day like this.
The Parenting Week has just begun. The detailed program can be found on the city's agenda page.
