The Communauté de communes des Deux Rives celebrated "Le Grand Repas" on October 8th, a national operation aimed at bringing citizens, young and old, together around a meal. The initiative, supported and sponsored by the community kitchen, saw its teams carefully prepare a delicious menu.
Whether they were recipients of home meal delivery, residents of Balivernes, or schoolchildren, everyone enjoyed the same seasonal menu served simultaneously across the Deux Rives region, and throughout France.
The menu featured a quiche, duck "petit salé" with green herbs, local veal "blanquette" with curry served with white rice and butternut squash cubes, and finally, a pear and plum tart with almond cream. These dishes were prepared by the various teams of the community kitchen.
The event also highlighted home meal delivery and the satisfaction of the residents of Balivernes, as well as the joy of schoolchildren, such as those in Donzac.
Under the watchful eyes of Mr. Patrick Larrose, Vice-President of the Communauté de communes, mayor of Donzac and lead representative for the community kitchen, and Mr. Francis Lannes, Director of the community kitchen, the flavorful dishes were appreciated by all.
This national initiative aims to bring citizens together around the values of conviviality, sharing, and gustatory pleasure, while promoting local, seasonal consumption and combating food waste. The national association unites players in collective and traditional catering for this simultaneous meal sharing.
For the first time in the department since the operation began, two sponsors committed to federating this initiative locally: Bernard Bordaries, chef at Le Clos Monteils in Caussade, and Francis Lannes, representing the agents of the Deux Rives community kitchen.
This successful participation highlights the expertise and involvement of all Kitchen staff, as well as local producers and the concept of "well-eating" in a convivial atmosphere.
