The route for the 2027 Tour de France has been unveiled, revealing a major stage crossing the Hérault and Lozère departments on Saturday, July 17. The fourteenth stage will link Montpellier to Mende.

The race will pass through the Hérault valley, traversing towns such as Montarnaud, La Boissière, Aniane, and Saint-Jean-de-Fos. Cyclists will then tackle the Col du Vent, a historic first for the Tour de France, before heading into the Cévennes.
Following recent appearances in 2021 and 2024, the Tour de France once again marks its territory. The ascent of the Col du Vent, already popular with local cyclists, represents a significant novelty for this edition.
This 199 km stage, with an elevation gain of 4,300 meters, is described as a "favorite" by Tour director Christian Prudhomme. The route promises spectacular scenery, including the Pont du Diable, the Cirque de Navacelles, Mont Aigoual, before the finish in Mende.
