The Mediterranean episode will begin in the Cévennes highlands and upper cantons before extending to the plains. Rainfall, already present today, is expected to intensify during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
In the mountainous areas, rainfall intensities between 50 and 80 mm per hour are possible, with accumulations potentially reaching 200 to 250 mm, and locally up to 300 mm.
In the plains, strong rainfall intensities of around 40 to 60 mm in one hour are forecast for the afternoon. A risk of stationary rain is also announced, which could lead to accumulations of 80 to 100 mm in a short period.
