Ten young people from Jacou, aged 14 to 17, harvested 600 kg of olives during the traditional "Chantiers Loisirs Jeunes" event, an initiative promoting civic engagement and local heritage.

During the autumn holidays, ten young residents of Jacou, aged 14 to 17, took part in the traditional olive harvest. This initiative, organized as part of the commune's "Chantiers Loisirs Jeunes" (Youth Leisure Projects), aims to combine civic engagement, conviviality, and the promotion of local heritage.
Thanks to the mobilization of the young participants, 600 kg of olives were harvested, enabling the production of Jacou's traditional olive oil. The commune extended its sincere thanks to Baptiste, Aubin, Timothy, Jules, Eloane, Anaïs, Giulietta, Mahdi, Adem, and Marie for their dynamic participation, as well as to the facilitators Damien and Léa from Thierry Pautes primary school for their supervision.
The resulting olive oil symbolizes sharing and solidarity. Each year, it is offered to residents and volunteers who contribute daily to the community's well-being, as a token of gratitude for their involvement. This initiative encourages civic engagement among younger generations while perpetuating a local tradition of sharing and conviviality.
