Commémoration de la Toussaint au Carré Militaire de Lunel

Mairie de Lunel

This November 1st, All Saints' Day, elected officials, civil and military authorities, religious representatives, and child councilors gathered at the Carré Militaire of Saint-Gérard cemetery in Lunel for a ceremony organized by Le Souvenir Français.

The association Le Souvenir Français, chaired by Jean-Michel Geoffroy for the Lunel committee, celebrated the memory of the 96 soldiers, mostly unknown but all having died for France, who are buried in Lunel's military square. This commemoration, which aims to preserve and transmit remembrance, highlighted the diverse faiths among the honored soldiers (Catholic, Muslim, and Protestant).
This moment of republican contemplation was marked by the passing of remembrance, embodied by the child councilors of Lunel alongside Paulette Gougeon. A large assembly attended this solemn ceremony.
