While October is often associated with breast cancer screening, blood donation represents another equally crucial act. In France, over 61,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, affecting one in eight women during their lifetime. Treatments, such as chemotherapy, can weaken the bone marrow, which produces blood cells. Red blood cell and platelet transfusions are then essential to allow patients to continue their care under better conditions.
Each blood donation has the potential to save three lives. The French Blood Establishment (EFS) is calling for participation, whether you are a regular donor or wish to donate for the first time.
The next collection will take place at the Maison du Temps Libre au Taurus. The hours are: Wednesday, October 21st, from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Thursday, October 22nd, from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
