On the occasion of the 2026 Fête de la Science (Science Festival), IMAG, DEM, and IRES are mobilizing from Saturday, October 3 to Monday, October 5, 2026, at the Village des Sciences square at the Faculty of Education. The exhibition Why Mathematics? will be presented there.
This highly interactive exhibition aims to show visitors that mathematics is not only interesting and surprising but also useful and accessible to everyone. It highlights its omnipresence in daily life, its connection to numerous professions, and its fundamental role in culture, development, and progress.
Comprising numerous hands-on objects, the exhibition will be led by mathematics researchers and PhD students, offering direct engagement with these fields.
