Benoît Sabatier, a recognized figure in the regional cultural scene, has been appointed director of La Scène Pignanaise, a new cultural space in Pignan, scheduled to open in September 2027.

Benoît Sabatier, former director of cultural affairs and the Chai du Terral venue in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, will officially take the helm of the new cultural space, La Scène Pignanaise, starting September 1st. The official opening is anticipated for the fall of 2027.
Recognized for his expertise within the regional artistic community, Sabatier arrives with the enthusiasm of a builder, aiming to make this new venue a key cultural hub for all residents in the western part of the Montpellier metropolitan area.
“

"This cultural hall was conceived to be a warm living space for the people of Pignan, but our ambition goes far beyond that. We want to make it the cultural beacon for the entire west of the Montpellier metropolitan area and surrounding towns. It is a modern and efficient tool that our living area was missing. Ideally located and soon connected to new transport infrastructures like the Bustram, this venue is intended to attract audiences from across the department thanks to a major program."

Michelle Cassar · Mayor of Pignan
Located in the Saint-Estève district, the cultural hall features modern architecture with mineral facades paying homage to the traditional stones of the town center. Designed by the firm Ateliers A+, the building is organized around a convivial central patio. The main hall will eventually accommodate 404 retractable seats for theater, concerts, dance, and conferences, and will include an exhibition space.
“

"It's a magnificent project to develop. Our absolute priority is to offer a high-quality multidisciplinary program, while ensuring it remains affordable, welcoming, and open to all. While waiting for the curtain to rise in September, I am working to build bridges with the local and regional community. This place should not simply host shows; it must vibrate daily with residents and visitors."

Benoît Sabatier · Director of Cultural Affairs
