On the occasion of All Saints' Day, the municipality of Vendargues held a commemorative ceremony in memory of the mayors who have led the town since the French Revolution, bringing together elected officials, members of the Youth Municipal Council, and families.

Each year, Vendargues upholds the tradition of laying a wreath in honor of the mayors who have led the commune since the French Revolution. The event was attended by elected officials, members of the Youth Municipal Council (CMJ), and families.
During an exchange animated by Géraldine Grolier, Bernard Bonnafy, president of the Mémoire de Vendargues association, recounted the history of the Republic, its values, and symbols. He detailed the list of mayors who have succeeded each other at the head of the commune since 1790, a work carried out with Richard Pouget.
For his part, Guy Lauret, mayor of Vendargues, shared his vision on the functioning of a town hall, the evolution of election methods, and ties with the State. He emphasized the importance of democratic continuity through the succession of elections and the expression of voters, recalling that the current infrastructure is the result of the work of each mayor and their successive municipal councils.
The morning continued with a visit to the banks of the Cadoule, in front of the stele commemorating Pierre Dudieuzère, and then to the cemetery to lay flowers on the graves. On this occasion, Bernard Bonnafy stopped before the various tombs to recall the duration of each mayor's mandate.
