Addressing the question of how we want to live, work, and travel tomorrow in the Thau basin, Sète agglopôle méditerranée is launching a broad consultation process with its inhabitants. The objective is to build a shared vision for the territory's future and set the priorities that will guide its future actions.
The official launch of the Territorial Project took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Forum de Balaruc-le-Vieux. This event brought together residents, elected officials, and territorial partners to share the initial findings from a process that began in June. Over several months, 80 residents were invited to share their daily lives, expectations, and vision for the territory. These testimonies form the basis of a diagnosis built on the lived realities of the Agglopôle's 131,000 inhabitants across its 14 municipalities, aiming to foster a common ambition while respecting local diversity.
The consultation continues in October with a new phase: the grand citizen dialogue. Teams will engage with residents, including young people, families, workers, and economic actors. Seven public meetings will also be held in November and December in various municipalities. These gatherings will focus on the major challenges facing the Thau basin, such as ecological, economic, and social transitions, quality of life, services, and mobility, with the aim of generating concrete proposals.
The contributions gathered will be analyzed and submitted for debate among the community's elected officials. The main orientations of the Territorial Project will be presented and discussed in January 2027. A new public meeting in February 2027 will present the final choices and demonstrate how residents' input has helped shape them. The Territorial Project will then become a roadmap for the public policies and investments of Sète agglopôle méditerranée.
