The Prefect of Pyrénées-Orientales has ordered the opening of a unique public inquiry concerning the development or revision of flood risk prevention plans (PPRi) for the communes within the Basse-Castelnou river basin. This initiative aims to prevent and manage flood risks in the region.
The inquiry will take place from October 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM to November 18, 2026, at 5:00 PM, for a total duration of 31 consecutive days. Citizens can consult the documents and submit their observations at the public inquiry's headquarters, located at the DDTM, as well as in the town halls of all communes concerned by the river basin.
The commune of Le Soler, particularly exposed to flood risks from river overflow and marine submersion, is central to this procedure. The State has mandated the development or revision of its PPRi to ensure urban development that does not worsen this risk.
Documents related to this public inquiry, including the prefectural order and the public inquiry notice, are available for consultation.
