The Chamber of Agriculture of Pyrénées-Orientales reminds that applications for 2026 drought aid can be submitted until October 22, 2026, in response to the economic consequences of climate hazards.

Faced with the increasing frequency of climate hazards and their economic repercussions, the Chamber of Agriculture of Pyrénées-Orientales, alongside union representatives from FDSEA and Jeunes Agriculteurs (JA), is actively working to defend farmers' interests and find concrete support solutions during crisis situations. These support mechanisms aim to help farmers cope and recover.
The Chamber of Agriculture provides resources to clarify the support systems available in case of damage to a farm. The type of support depends on several factors: whether the risk is insurable, the cause of the damage (climate, wildlife, sanitary), and the nature of the damage (loss of harvest/production, loss of land, damage to buildings and greenhouses).
Training courses are also offered. One, titled "RTK Centipede: open source for centimeter-level precision," lasts 0.5 days and costs €108 (€30 for farmers, subject to VIVEA funding). Another training, focusing on adapting farms to climate change due to drought, lasts 2 days and costs €371 per day (€35 per day for farmers, subject to VIVEA funding).
Information regarding agricultural calamities, aid for vineyards, animal and plant production, as well as Payments for Environmental Services (PSE), is also available, reflecting the current concerns of the agricultural sector.
