From October 12 to 21, Perpignan turns pink for October Rose, a campaign to raise awareness and support for those affected by female cancers. The mobilization extends throughout the city, with initiatives planned at the Hôtel de Ville, Parc Sant Vicens, and the Musée d’art Hyacinthe Rigaud.
On Monday, October 12, from 2 PM to 5 PM, the Espace citoyen Joseph Couffe (16 rue Puvalador, Bas-Vernet) will host a free afternoon of information and prevention. Health professionals, students, and associations will offer stands and workshops on breast self-examination, nutrition, physical activity, HPV vaccination, menopause, and endometriosis. Screenings will also be available in a friendly atmosphere.
The second edition of the October Rose Run will take place on Saturday, October 17, at Parc Sant Vicens. Organized by the City, Maison Sport Santé Perpignan, the League Against Cancer, and the Mutuelle communale, this sporting and inclusive day will feature activities, a family run, and an adapted walk. All funds raised will be donated to the League Against Cancer of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Race registrations are accessible via QR code. Bibs can be collected at the Maison Sport Santé Perpignan (90 avenue Paul Alduy) on October 15 and 16.
On Wednesday, October 21, a meeting with associations will be held at 11:30 AM in the patio of the Hôtel de Ville, place de la Loge, to highlight their commitment.
The Musée d’art Hyacinthe Rigaud is also participating with a flash visit titled 'In Maternal Arms – Views on Motherhood and Family,' on Wednesday, October 21, at 12:15 PM at 21 rue Mailly. This cultural event is accessible with the museum's entrance ticket.
