The Pyrénées-Orientales department has been placed under an orange alert for rain and flooding this Sunday, October 4th. Heavy precipitation is expected, with 50 to 80 mm possible in a few hours and accumulations potentially reaching 160 mm over the entire episode.
This intense rainfall, occurring at the end of summer, can cause significant runoff and rapid water level rises.
The Town of Toulouges reminds its residents of the essential precautions to take: limit travel and exercise caution on the roads, stay away from rivers and low-lying areas, never drive through flooded roads, do not go into basements if water levels rise, and protect belongings that could be affected.
It is also advised to follow the situation's evolution and the authorities' instructions through official channels.
The municipality of Toulouges is closely monitoring the situation and will keep its citizens informed of any developments.
