The 402 express line between Carcassonne and Limoux is now served by a 100% electric bus, offering faster journeys and an enhanced transport service as part of a sustainable and accessible mobility initiative.

The Regional Public Transport Authority Occitanie Sud has acquired its first electric bus for the liO network. This zero-emission IVECO vehicle now operates on the 402 express line, connecting Carcassonne and Limoux.
The route has been redesigned to significantly reduce travel times. The journey from Limoux to Carcassonne now takes approximately 35 minutes, a saving of 15 minutes compared to the previous 50 minutes, thanks to an optimized route and fewer intermediate stops.
The frequency of departures has also been increased on weekdays, with a bus every 30 minutes during peak hours, offering 22 daily departures in both directions. On Saturdays, 10 departures are available, and on Sundays, 4 departures are offered.
This express bus service complements the Carcassonne-Quillan railway line, with 28 daily departures on weekdays, 14 on Saturdays, and 4 on Sundays.
The single liO fare is €2 per trip. liO Train tickets for the Carcassonne – Quillan line dated for the day are valid on the express buses. Children under 4 travel for free. Tickets can be purchased on board, via the liO app, or the Fairtiq application.
