The expanded education commission of the Aubrac Regional Natural Park has approved 21 educational and social projects for the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on environmental and territorial themes.

The expanded education commission, bringing together elected officials and representatives from the National Education system, has selected 21 new projects for the 2026-2027 season of L'École du Parc. These initiatives, centered on the themes "From the landscape to my table. Water; the tree; landscapes; food", will involve schools and social structures in Aveyron, Lozère, and Cantal.
Among the selected projects, Aveyron will host 7 school projects and 2 social projects. Lozère will have 8 school projects, while Cantal will offer 4, including one funded by the "rural educational territory of Cantal" initiative for the middle school in Chaudes Aigues.
Nine other applications were rejected for various reasons, including incomplete applications or institutions that had recently benefited from the program. Funding avenues are being explored for some projects in Lozère.
L'École du Parc, which supports tailor-made projects without its own buildings, aims to promote education about the territory, sustainable development, the environment, and artistic and cultural education. Projects are developed in partnership with the National Education services and funded by the Occitanie and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions, as well as the Adour-Garonne Water Agency.
The 2025-2026 school year also saw numerous achievements, such as the project "The landscape of our memories" at the retirement home in Saint-Amans-des-Côts, exploring the link between landscape, biodiversity, and the Montézic dam. Exhibitions of participants' creations also took place, notably in Saint Geniez d'Olt et d'Aubrac as part of biodiversity week.
Festive restitution days marked the end of the 2025-2026 school year, bringing together children, the elderly, and adults to share their experiences and projects. These events highlight the richness of intergenerational encounters and the importance of discovering the local environment.
Training sessions and practice-sharing days were also organized for teachers and facilitators, particularly focusing on the geology of Aubrac and landscape interpretation, thereby strengthening the transmission of knowledge about the region.
