Following municipal and community elections, the CODEV (Development Council) of Gard Rhodanien was renewed on Wednesday, September 23rd during an installation session at the Orsan town hall. Building on the experience of the previous term, the Agglomeration has introduced modifications to optimize its functioning.
The number of members has increased from 50 to 60, allowing former members to continue their involvement. To ensure territorial balance, the area has been divided into 4 geographical zones: Pont-Saint-Esprit and the Ardèche valley (11 communes, 18,000 inhabitants), Bagnols-sur-Cèze (8 communes, 26,000 inhabitants), Goudargues and the Cèze valley (11 communes, 7,000 inhabitants), and Laudun-L’Ardoise and the southern territory (14 communes, 26,000 inhabitants).
After a widely disseminated call for applications, 93 candidacies were received (55 men, 38 women). Regulatory parity guided the selection of the 60 members, retaining existing members and applying objective criteria of geographical zone, gender, and age for new ones. The 33 rejected candidacies were kept as potential alternates.
Following official speeches, members validated the internal regulations that will govern their work. The CODEV serves as a body for consultation and territorial dialogue, exercising an advisory role for the Agglomeration. It will provide opinions and recommendations on public policies and major territorial issues, playing a key role in developing the new territorial project.
