The renovation work at the Yves Chaze school in Samatan is progressing. The construction, which began on July 8, 2024, is scheduled for completion with the building's reception in June 2026. The inauguration is planned for August 29, 2026, marking the start of the school year on September 1, 2026.
The project covers a total area of 3,300 m2 across three levels, including the After-School Activity Center (Alae). The total cost of the construction amounts to €8,492,929.79 excluding tax. The current progress rate is 61.77%.
The financing for this renovation is supported by several partners. The Communauté de communes du Savès contributes 26.6%. The Departmental Council and the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) each provide 3.54%. The Region participates with 2.26%, while the Agency for Ecological Transition and the Water Agency contribute 1.14% and 1.12% respectively.
The municipality of Samatan is also making a financial commitment with a contribution of €537,000 for the temporary school facilities. Additionally, improvements to the boulevard de la Chaussée amount to €341,162.40. Works carried out in-house by the municipality include pedestrian pathways and the transformation of the pétanque court into an activity center and refectory.
