On the occasion of his visit to Lourdes, Pope Leo XIV will be welcomed by Thierry Lavit, mayor of Lourdes, on Saturday, September 26 at 7:40 PM, on the Pont Léon XIV.
This welcome will allow the mayor of Lourdes to present to the sovereign pontiff the genesis and identity of the bridge to which he gave his name.
During this segment, the artwork "La Fraternité entre les peuples" by sculptor Jean-Jacques Abdallah will also be unveiled, as well as the signing of the golden book of the City of Lourdes.
Then, Pope Leo XIV will continue his journey by popemobile towards the Sanctuary.
