The Adour Madiran Community of Communes has announced that "Le Grenier du Val d’Adour", a semi-mobile recycling center project led by Leya and Thibault, has won the 2026 Young Projects Grant.

The project, conceived by two young residents, aims to establish a semi-mobile recycling center in Maubourguet and surrounding towns. Its goal is to give objects a second life, promote reuse and repair, and educate residents on environmental issues.
To achieve this, "Le Grenier du Val d’Adour" will offer participatory workshops and an ecological escape game, engaging both children and adults in a fun and friendly way. The initiative also carries a social and solidarity dimension, fostering sharing, mutual aid, and access to affordable goods, while contributing to local dynamism.
Aligned with the "Ecological Transition" theme, the project addresses territorial challenges by reducing waste and developing local solutions for object valorization. Leya and Thibault will receive €5,000 in financial support and guidance from the Adour Madiran Community of Communes.
The Young Projects Grant, aimed at individuals aged 12 to 25, supports initiatives that benefit the general interest and vitality of the territory across various fields such as culture, solidarity, environment, and citizenship.
Applications for the 2027 Young Projects Grant are open until May 30, 2027. For more information, the Adour Madiran Youth Information service can be contacted via email at jeunesse@adour-madiran.fr or by phone at 06 11 89 99 10.
