Between November and December 2026, the City of Montpellier is proceeding with the inauguration of winning citizen projects from the participatory budget, following resident votes.

Following a phase of idea submission on the participatory platform, review by city services, and resident voting, the selected citizen projects in Montpellier are now entering the realization phase. Several inaugurations are scheduled in different city districts between November and December 2026.
The inauguration schedule notably includes the Olivier small square on November 7th, the renovation of the Agora at Bartolomé de Las Casas park in the Cévennes district on November 13th, and the laying of the first stone for the Boîte à sports in the Port Marianne district on November 18th.
Other projects such as the restoration of the walls of the Grand mail (Mosson district), the artistic playground Restanque (Prés d’Arènes district), and the playground of La Guirlande (Centre district) will be inaugurated on November 21st. Participatory construction sites are also planned in the Centre district (Coursindel) and Port Marianne (plot RZ55).
The participatory budget is a financial mechanism implemented by the City of Montpellier, allowing citizens to propose and vote on projects that guide the local authority's spending.
