The Place de l’Agenouillade in Grau d'Agde hosted the first Honey Festival on Sunday, October 11th, celebrating bees through demonstrations, products, and workshops.

On Sunday, October 11th, the Place de l’Agenouillade in Grau d’Agde buzzed with the very first Honey Festival. This event, focused on discovery, indulgence, and biodiversity, was entirely dedicated to the bee, the beekeepers' precious ally.
In the presence of local officials including the Mayor of Agde, Aurélien Lopez Liguori, Philippe Arpon, Deputy in charge of Festivities and Events, and Municipal Councilor Joëlle Bourghelle, the public witnessed live honey extraction sessions. These demonstrations illustrated the various stages of production, from the hive frame to the final jar.
For a complete immersion, a transparent educational beehive allowed safe observation of the social organization within bee colonies. Professionals from the l’Abeille Héraultaise union were also present to engage with visitors and share their expertise.
Stalls offered a wide variety of honeys, alongside numerous products derived from the precious nectar. The exhibition « Des abeilles et des hommes » (Of Bees and Men) and a candle-making workshop complemented this day dedicated to the industrious bee.
Jointly organized by the l’Abeille Héraultaise union and the municipality, this new event aims to highlight the know-how of Hérault beekeepers and raise public awareness about environmental protection.
