After three years of collaborative work, the 'Flags for My City' exhibition was celebrated in Frontignan la Peyrade, highlighting residents' creativity and the power of artistic sharing.

For three years, with the support of the municipality, the association Tisseuse de liens has been transforming the city into a space for sharing, artistic practice, and collective memory. This project, led by five artists, involved over 800 participants from associations, schools, nursing homes (EHPAD), and various neighborhoods. Together, they created more than 130 flags, telling the story of the territory through the eyes of its inhabitants and celebrating what they share there.
The culmination of these three years of collective creation was celebrated on Saturday morning at the Municipal Museum of Frontignan la Peyrade. The event brought together residents from Frontignan and Lapeyrade, along with several local officials, including Mayor Michel Arrouy, Deputy Mayor for Culture Valérie Maillard, Deputy Mayor for Integration Youcef El Amri, and Municipal Councilor Caroline Suné.
“

"By supporting this initiative, our municipality helps to highlight everyone's capacity to create, transmit, and contribute to collective life. It fully empowers citizen participation. Exhibiting these works in public spaces also gives visibility to the stories and creativity of the inhabitants, while inviting everyone to look at their city with fresh eyes."

Michel Arrouy · Mayor of Frontignan la Peyrade
“

"Bringing art into our streets and public squares affirms that culture belongs to everyone. In Frontignan la Peyrade, we champion a popular yet demanding culture that fosters emancipation, bridges generations, and gives everyone a place in city life. It's a culture discovered during a stroll, inviting encounters, and to which everyone can contribute, regardless of their age, background, or means."

Valérie Maillard · Deputy Mayor for Culture and Heritage
To conclude this project, a festive procession took place starting from the Albert-Calmette Social Life Space. Organized by Tisseuse de liens and Cie Oublie pas de sourire, with the collaboration of Lycée Maurice-Clavel, the association Fabrikulture, and local residents, it involved distributing postcards created for the occasion.
The exhibition 'Des drapeaux pour ma ville' (Flags for My City) is on display until October 24, 2026, at the Municipal Museum and the Salle Jean-Claude-Izzo, as well as in the city streets, from Tuesday to Friday, 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM. Admission is free.
A selection of works will also be featured at the CRAC Occitanie (Regional Center for Contemporary Art) in Sète, from November 6 to 30. The CRAC will also host Cric Crac workshops on October 28 and 29 for children aged 7 to 12, led by artists from Tisseuse de liens. The performance 'Tisser nos corps' by Pamela B will take place on November 18 at CRAC Occitanie.
