Montpellier-based startup BeatHealth, supported by SATT AxLR, is developing innovative digital solutions that transform music into a therapeutic tool for Parkinson's disease patients, thereby improving their mobility and quality of life.

Parkinson's disease, affecting approximately 270,000 people in France, is notably characterized by debilitating gait disorders. To address this challenge, the Montpellier-based startup BeatHealth is creating innovative digital solutions that leverage music as a therapeutic tool.
Supported by SATT AxLR since 2016, the project led to the startup's creation in 2021. BeatHealth now aims to make its solutions widely accessible and establish itself in the field of digital therapies for neurological diseases.
BeatHealth's innovation is based on auditory rhythmic stimulation, using musical rhythm to improve movement. Its flagship device, BeatMove, synchronizes music with the patient's natural walking cadence in real-time, thereby facilitating movement and improving gait fluidity.
Stemming from over ten years of research, notably at the EuroMov Digital Health in Motion laboratory (University of Montpellier / École des Mines d'Alès) and the CHU de Montpellier, this technology has demonstrated significant benefits on walking speed, stride length, and reduction of fall risk, sustainably improving the autonomy and quality of life for individuals with Parkinson's disease.
Thanks to SATT AxLR's maturation programs, these scientific results have been transformed into a concrete solution. In 2023, a worldwide exclusive exploitation license was signed between the startup and SATT AxLR, which also became a shareholder.
After several years of development, BeatHealth is experiencing an acceleration phase. In 2026, the association France Parkinson joined the startup's capital, reflecting confidence in its approach.
In the same year, BeatHealth is working on a submission for the PECAN program, a step towards potential reimbursement of BeatMove by the French National Health Insurance (Assurance Maladie). The startup also secured initial coverage in the Department of Loire through the Personalized Autonomy Allowance (APA).
These advancements have been bolstered by several distinctions, including the status of Young Disruptive Innovative Company (JEIR), integration into Bpifrance's Prevention accelerator, and the « Startup, Industrie de demain » label from the Occitanie Region.
The progress made in 2026 opens new avenues. To support its scaling, BeatHealth is initiating a new fundraising round combining crowdfunding and equity.
International expansion is also a major strategic focus. BeatHealth is preparing a partnership with Air Liquide to access Scandinavian markets, marking a key step in distributing BeatMove across Europe.
The company is already looking ahead, particularly with the recent authorization of a comparable device in the American market, confirming the momentum of digital therapies for neurological diseases. BeatHealth aims to enter the United States market by 2029.
Beyond geographical expansion, BeatHealth continues to explore new applications for its rhythmic technologies. Initially developed for Parkinson's disease patients, this approach could eventually benefit other patients facing neurological or mobility disorders.
