From September 9th to 11th, the PETR du Pays du Gévaudan-Lozère, through its Mission d’accueil des nouvelles populations, organized a welcome session for economic project leaders wishing to establish themselves in the region. This initiative, stemming from a call for applications, aimed to showcase the territory, its economic opportunities, and local stakeholders who can support future entrepreneurs.
Following the call for applications, 10 projects were submitted, and 5 were selected. These projects span various sectors, including agriculture, social cohesion, art and exceptional crafts, hospitality-small catering, and general crafts.
Over these three days, participants were immersed in the local ecosystem. They met key partners such as Lozère Nouvelle Vie, the Chambres consulaires, and Relance, along with other local actors supporting business creation. Visits to local companies, recently created or taken over by newcomers, were also organized, providing a concrete overview of the local economy and facilitating networking.
These exchanges allowed project leaders to share experiences and better understand the realities of settling in Lozère. The session was deemed a great success by the PETR and the Mission Accueil, who met qualified and motivated profiles.
Several participants are considering short-term establishment, with some mentioning potential installations by the end of 2026. The next step involves a detailed review with all associated partners to determine follow-up actions for projects and potential future installations.
