As part of the Mental Health Information Weeks (SISM), the Social Action Centre (CCAS) of Canet-en-Roussillon organized a day focused on the connection between art and well-being. The event, held at the Jean Piat theater, featured creative workshops, artistic discoveries, and activities throughout the day. This gathering was open to users, families, sector professionals, and the general public.
Various activities were offered by different facilitators. The Arts plastiques de Canet association, the Espace parentalité, and the center médico-psychologique (CMP) led workshops in painting, modeling, musical awakening, and mandala creation. The C’Music association also provided a workshop focused on memory and movement, followed by an artistic performance.
Following a lunch break, participants had the opportunity to try wood sculpture and pottery techniques, presented by the Escultors de Catalunya association. A visit to the current exhibition at the Galerie des Hospices was also part of the program.
These workshops and activities provided a space to explore different artistic practices while fostering discussions on mental health. The initiative, organized in collaboration with Thuir hospital, the CMP of Canet, and several associative partners, highlighted the importance of these exchange moments for promoting a more open perspective on mental health, a topic that concerns everyone in the community.
