The Laurier hall in Montech buzzed on Saturday, September 19, to the rhythm of cards and game announcements. Tarot enthusiasts and competition regulars gathered for a day marked by conviviality, strategy, and of course, a dose of suspense.
The organization was entrusted to the Tarot Club Montéchois, presided over by Jean Rémy Larroque. "We had 80 participants from all over the Occitanie region, including from Cahors, Lézat/Lèze, Carcassonne, Castres, Pamiers, Mazères, Lectoure, Meauzac, Montbeton, Salies du Salat, and players from the Montech club," stated the president, noting some competition that impacted the number of tables.
Throughout the day, games followed one another in a studious yet warm atmosphere. Players had to demonstrate concentration, reflection, and sometimes a bit of luck to succeed.
The Mayor visited mid-afternoon to greet the club members and encourage participants, accompanied by Dominique Sardeing, vice-president of the Departmental Council of Tarn et Garonne. Michel Galaup, Deputy in charge of associations, had come in the morning to check on the preparations.
President Jean-Rémy Larroque and the club's volunteers can be proud of the success of this event, which remains highly appreciated in the Tarot community. Thanks were extended to all those who contributed, directly or indirectly, to the success of this tournament.
