In response to deteriorating weather conditions, Météo-France has issued a red alert for rain-flooding and an orange alert for storms and floods for the Gard department, effective from Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Consequently, the crisis unit of the Communal Safeguard Plan convened this morning to coordinate emergency measures aimed at ensuring the safety of residents in Vauvert and its hamlets.
The City maintains constant communication with forecasting services to monitor the evolving situation. Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution and stay informed about weather updates. Adherence to safety instructions provided by the City and competent authorities is crucial.
Following these prefectural directives and to guarantee the safety of children, families, and staff, the leisure center, nursery, and youth service will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The Town Hall (04 66 73 10 73) and the Municipal Police (04 66 73 10 80) remain reachable. Municipal services are fully mobilized.
The public is advised to limit travel, check traffic conditions, seek shelter in solid buildings, and stay away from trees. It is also recommended to avoid areas near watercourses and never enter submerged roads or areas near rivers, especially bridges, respecting all signage.
