The Faculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier is highlighting the upcoming release of "The Epic of Mammals: From the First Fossils to the Present Day." This work is the result of a collaboration between Pierre-Olivier Antoine and Lionel Hautier, both paleontologists and research professors within the faculty.
Published by Belin Editions, the book will be available on November 5, 2026. Across 224 pages, it offers the general public a fascinating journey through the evolutionary history of mammals. The book features over 150 color illustrations detailing the major stages of this evolution, remarkable species adaptations, and key paleontological discoveries.
This publication underscores the dynamism of the Faculty of Sciences' research teams and their commitment to sharing scientific knowledge. The authors will present their work at an Agora des Savoirs event on January 6, 2027, in Montpellier, providing the public with an opportunity for direct exchange with them.
